Our People

Jim Brosseau, PMP

"Jim is a true professional. His expertise in software development and project management is outstanding, but perhaps more important is his commitment to his clients and his own personal learning. Working with Jim is a pleasure for me - and will be beneficial for you." - Kevin Eikenberry, Owner, The Discian Group

Jim has been in the software industry since 1980,  in a variety of roles and responsibilities. He has held successively more responsible positions in military and defense contracting, commercial software development, and training and consulting. He has worked in the QA role, and has acted as team lead, project manager, and director. Jim has been involved with the BCIT Bachelor of Technology program, mentored students at SFU Surrey and the Vancouver Board of Trade's Leaders of Tomorrow program, acts as a mentor in the New Ventures BC competition, and has been on the Business Advisory Board of the Advanced Systems Institute of BC.

Jim has wide experience in a number of key technical areas that are essential for the successful leadership of technical teams. Project management, software estimation, quality assurance and testing, peer reviews, and requirements management are all areas that Jim has a demonstrated expertise in. He has provided training and mentoring in all these areas, both publicly and onsite, with clients across North America.

In addition, Jim has personally worked with more than 100 organizations in the past 10 years with a goal of reducing business inefficiencies. An integral part of this effort has been a focus on techniques for measurement of productivity gains and ROI for refined development and management practices.

He has published numerous technical articles, and has presented at major conferences and local professional associations. His first book, Software Teamwork: Taking Ownership for Success, was published in 2007 by Addison-Wesley Professional. Jim lives with his wife and two children in Vancouver.
