Project Plan Facilitation

You don’t have time for training, you have products to get out the door.

Well, it turns out that you can have your cake and eat it too.

Our project facilitation is focused on transfer of knowledge and immediate value.

We will work directly with your team, in the context of one of your projects, to provide specific, relevant training and guidance precisely where it is needed, resulting in a more efficient, lower risk, and higher quality product.

This is not about PowerPoint or canned exercises. Our focus here is to facilitate the team to produce the best work product they can, on a real project, throughout the lifecycle. A combination of workshops, mentoring and ad-hoc Q&A that is specifically tailored to your needs ensures that you will gain huge value from this service.

The breadth of coverage can include the following topics:

  • Bringing the team together and chartering the project effectively
  • Effective analysis and estimation techniques
  • Team-based project planning, risk analysis, and prioritization
  • Ongoing tracking and management of changes
  • Solid project closure and learning

We have taught all these topics in academic, public and private settings: the theory and best-practices are well understood.

More important, though, through a combination of working on a variety of projects and facilitation of a wide range of teams, we know how to effectively apply all these practices to real projects, and know how to work with real teams.

Think of us as a Project Management Office done right: we are not the boss, we are your guide. You bring the horsepower, we’ll ensure you get the most out of your team.

We also know that injecting too much change can be devastating to projects. We’ll adjust your team’s practices where necessary, and reinforce your team’s practices that are not getting in the way.

Jim was the head instructor for the Certificate Program in Project Management at Sauder School of Business, UBC. I had the privilege of benefitting from his vast experience and great patience as he guided us to the successful completion of this challenging program. Jim was able to de-mystify the sober and precise task of project management creating a fun learning environment based on constructive collaboration and interaction. – Philippe Antes

What Will This Cost?

All projects and project teams are different, so we can’t possibly give you a fixed price here. Based on our knowledge of teams we have worked with in the past, you can expect no more than 5% of your project costs to be invested in this engagement. Remember, though, we work together to decide what is right for you.

More Importantly, What Will You Gain?

Given the practical and relevant focus, you can expect far more savings in the project than the cost of working with Clarrus. Beyond the actual cost savings, though, you can expect your project to run more smoothly than in the past, with fewer surprises than previous projects, resulting in a product that stands out with higher quality and more delivered value than before.

When backed by our guarantee, what are you waiting for?

Fantastic article [on change management]. We have extended our project tracking system as per our meeting [with Clarrus] earlier this year, and many of our change management issues/problems disappeared – some of them literally overnight.
